Junior Violin Recital
Junior Violin Recital
On February 10th, 2024, I was very excited to present my Junior Violin Recital! I have been learning this music for over a year and am extremely grateful for the opportunity I had to present what I have learned in an official recital. I played J.S. Bach's Sonata No. 1 in G minor for Solo Violin and Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor.
The Six Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin by Johann Sebastian Bach are the heart of the Violin Repertoire. Every professional violinist is familiar with these six sonatas and partitas. One day I will learn all of them and fully explore the beautiful and creative music Bach wrote for Solo Violin. I performed Sonata No. 1 in G minor in it's completion and had a blast learning about the piece! It took many months of careful detailed work to put it together for my recital. Bach's music for Solo Violin is some of my favorite music to play.
Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor is among the great virtuosic violin concertos. The creativity within the composition is jaw dropping. I have been in love with this concerto for a number of years, but only started practicing it about a year ago. I've had many hard times in my personal life through this past year of learning it and this concerto has helped me express myself in a way that I couldn't have otherwise done without it.
